Hi, my name is Jonathan and I am the owner/author of The Progress. I decided to write this blog to share my experience with others who like to continuously learn and improve in the areas of self-development, entrepreneurship and software & technology.

For me, life is about progress, self-improvement, learning and of course, play. I also firmly believe that knowledge or learned things need to be applied in the real world in order to have any positive effect and to solidify the learned things. Applying what I have learned and experimenting is the part that is the most fun for me ;)

If you’ve read this far, you might want to know more about me and my background

I am about 30 and work for a large software company (besides my own company). I started my career as a developer / programmer. Over the years, I transitioned more and more to an architecture and management role (with a consulting career in between).

Because of my many interests, I never seem to be able to commit myself to just one activity. I like to experiment and love challenges.

That is why I have already founded several companies. Some were successful, others less so. With every start-up and with every new company, I learned a lot and gained experience about what works and what doesn’t.

Apart from a lot of experience and knowledge in the area of business start-ups and efficiency, I have a strong IT / technology background. Furthermore, I have a lot of experience with business process optimization and design as well as in structuring global teams and operational processes (IT operations focus).

In recent years it has become more and more clear that I prefer to handle technology and everything around it in my own businesses. This is my passion. That’s why I decided to end or hand over my other companies and concentrate on The Progress (Web Design, Process optimization and automation, app development, and this blog).

Please note that some articles are only available in English and some articles are only available in German. I usually write programming or technology-related topics in English. Content which I write in german is usually related to local law regulations.

The blog will contain recommendations, affiliate links and so on.. however I will only recommend what I personally used or liked. If you like what you read and want to support me you can do this via the mentioned affiliate links or by simply shopping through amazon via this link.

If you have any feedback on my articles or would like to discuss some interesting topics feel free to reach out to me!
